Our Story
Hi, I’m Angie! Proud dog mom of two, Cathy and Haru, and the founder of Skylar Treats. Treats are one of the many joys we offer our furry babies in return for their unconditional love. However, our journey took a heartbreaking turn when an innocent-looking treat led to a life-threatening situation for our pup. This devastating experience opened our eyes to the hidden dangers lurking in commercial treats—many filled with "junk food" ingredients that put our furry babies' health at serious risk.
Skylar Treats was born out of love and necessity—because no pet parent should have to go through what we did. Determined to make a difference for our beloved furry babies, we crafted our treats in their purest form—free from harmful colorings, additives, and artificial ingredients. Plus, no preservatives are used because our freeze-drying and air-drying methods preserve the treats while retaining their nutritional value and flavors.

Meet Catalina Skylar a.k.a Cathy
Cathy, our first daughter, is a spoiled and incredibly picky husky. She also has a very sensitive stomach, making mealtimes a constant struggle. We dealt with many wasted food and upset stomachs. The breaking point came when she started pooping blood due to the commercial treats we were feeding her. We were devastated.
Not wanting other pet parents to face the same stress, we took matters into our own hands. That’s how Skylar Treats was born—crafted with single-ingredient treats, packed with nutrition and flavor, specifically designed to cater to pets' picky taste buds and sensitive stomachs.
Since Skylar Treats was born, Cathy is always excited for every meal, and she no longer struggle with stomach issues . Her favorite? Everything! Cathy was our top taste tester, personally selecting each treat during our trial-and-error process.
Meet Haru Skylar
Haru, our second child, will forever be my spoiled baby. He’s perfect in every way, except for his eye stains and allergies. Keeping his white coat pristine has been a constant challenge. After trying countless remedies for his stains, nothing worked—until I discovered the root cause was his food and allergies. Common proteins like beef, chicken, and pork were triggering extreme stains for Haru, so I had to eliminate them from his diet.
However, finding treats and food without these proteins was a struggle, as they dominate the pet market. This challenge inspired me to create Skylar Treats, offering alternatives like quail egg yolk, rabbit cubes, herring fish, krill, sweet potato, and rabbit ears—our top sellers and Haru’s absolute favorites. Knowing that each pet has unique preferences and allergies, I wanted to provide a variety of protein options to help cater to your furry friends' specific needs!
